Ah... the joys of parenthood...

Well, to start off... Harper had to come home from daycare again today cause she had a fever of 101. Jimmy took her to the doctor and she has another cold. Again. We have to continue giving her breathing treatments every 4 to 6 hours and include the inhaleable steroid medicine in those treatments to help to prevent it getting worse. Riley, of course, had to come home to when she saw daddy come in to get Harper. He's not allowed to leave her behind. hahaha.

Speaking of Riley, a tragedy struck last night... she lost her purple paci. She accidentally dropped her purple paci in the toilet. Daddy thought she had gone potty and flushed the toilet. Bye bye paci. The absolute panic and devastation in Riley's cries and she watched her paci swirl away and into never never toilet land was heartbreaking and yet... Jimmy and I couldn't help fighting not to laugh. I've never heard her scream in such panic and horror. I guess she's not ready to say goodbye to the paci fixation yet.

Last weekend wasn't all that exciting other than Riley having way too many potty accidents. She pooped in her new panties three times, peed on the floor in front of the toilet and peed in panties twice as well. **sigh** This potty training stuff is a very messy business. Oy. Riley also decided to be the good big sister and happy helper when Harper's nose was running a little bit. She informed me that "Harper needs tissue" and promptly got one for her AND gently wiped Harper's nose for her. She also takes it upon herself to wipe Harper's mouth with her bib if her drool gets on her chin. So sweet! Harper turned 5 months old on Monday. Her stats from the doctor's visit last Friday were:

Height: 25 1/2" (70%)
Weight: 15.3 lbs (55%)
Head: 42" (55%)

They also suggested we start her on rice cereal, which we've done. I let her try it a couple of times last week and she wasn't overly impressed with it. She kept shoving it back out of her mouth with her tongue. This week, I gave her some more but mixed some pureed fruit in with it and she LOVED it. She ate it all last night. Yay! Here are a few picks and some videos from the weekend for you to enjoy....

Riley's 1st time on a scooter was a success! She caught right on to it!

She loves the tire swing in the backyard of our neighbors across the street.
