About an hour after she woke up, the Motrin finally kicked in and she perked back up. Unfortunately, this morning, the fever was back at 102 but again disappeared once the Motrin kicked in. No other symptoms of sickness have shown up, but by this afternoon, Riley kept sticking her finger in her mouth and saying "Owie teeth." We're guessing her 2 year molars are coming in. Guess we will wait and see if anything more happens at this point. Other than the fever, the weekend was a lot of fun. Lots of presents, laughter, and good times.
Christmas morning began with some yummy bagels and general waking up, playing with birthday toys and other whatnot. We opened a few more gifts, it being Christmas and all. haha. Christmas stockings and the rest of the Christmas gifts won't be opened until a couple of weeks from now when Aunt Kelli and Uncle Chris come to town for Harper's birth. Yay for an extended Christmas! Riley's going to be spoiled rotten. lol.
After gift opening, we decided to make our "Candy Cottage." Omie bought one while in Canton early this month and the great part about it is that we can wash off all the icing and decorations whenever we want and make a new one for the next holiday (Valentine's, St. Paddy's day, Easter, etc). How fun is that?? Here's what we created...
The plastic base of the cottage...
Riley's in charge of the marshmallows. LOL
Icing the cottage...
Outlining the edges with Twizzlers...
Decorating the roof with gum drops and sprinkles...
The finished cottage...
Riley's chipmunk cheeks are stuffed with gum drops and marshmallows. She walked around the house for quite a while with puffy cheeks cause she was storing the candy in her mouth. LOL
After nap time, we went for a nice long walk around the block. Riley insisted on pushing her shopping cart the whole way around and we discovered she may have some OCD tendencies.... she kept her new Sesame Street memory flash cards in the center of her cart and if they didn't stay stacked up "just so" or if Elmo was not the top card, we had to stop and fix them to her standards. This didn't happen just one or two times. This happened every ten feet or so. Like I said..... a nice.... LONG walk around the block. hahaha
